Actually, it is more a way of life and mindset than a tradition. But I am fine if you want to make it a tradition!

The slides are now online. Apologies for the technical glitch - my computer went AWOL :(
Consequently, there is no recording of the session.
See you on Thursday morning for Lesson 2!

Hi. Could you maybe upload tomorrow's slides before the session? I like taking notes directly on the slides. But if it's not possible for one reason or another, it's not a big deal either.

Thanks,
Patrick

Hello Patrick,

My usual reason is that since some of my slides include some interaction/question whose answer is provided later on, I prefer to keep them hidden for a while. This is my main reason, together with the less important fact that in my time as a student (this is to tell you how old we are and the occasion to be grumpy ;)), tactile surface did not exist yet but (hand-made) slides did, so basically we had to take notes on old-fashioned paper.

I'll let Khaled and Florian decide on their own!

Cheers

Hi Sebastien,

thanks for your quick response. I absolutely see your point.

One way I saw this issue addressed in a course at my home university is to have two separate versions of the slide decks: one "preliminary version" for the students to download before the lecture without the solutions to the interactive parts and one "final version" as final reference. However, that was a course with 150 students each semester, so I absolutely understand, if you don't want to go to such lengths for this rather small course 😄

Cheers,
Patrick

This was indeed an initially planned update of the slides, but adapting them to video/distance learning and slicing them in modules took just a little bit longer than expected :).
